Who we are
Open Gateis operated by Kwantu Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 07689979). Kwantu Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described on this page and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration reference ZB024192). Contact: hello@theopengate.app.
What we hold
- Your email address, and your phone number if you connect WhatsApp.
- Your area: you give us a postcode, and we keep only its district (the first half) — never the full postcode.
- Your dressage preferences (disciplines, levels, regions), and the events you save.
- How you use the weekly email and the site — opens, clicks, saves, and clicks out to booking pages — so recommendations improve.
Why we hold it
To run your account and send the weekly email you asked for (consent — the signup itself), to personalise what’s in it (legitimate interest in making the product useful), and to keep the service secure. Marketing email and WhatsApp are separate consent toggles you can revoke at any time. We never sell your data, and we never use it for third-party advertising.
Where it lives
Our database and sign-in run on Supabase in London; the site runs on Vercel; email is delivered by Resend from Ireland. Each acts as our processor under a data-processing agreement, and any transfer outside the UK by their sub-processors is covered by standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum.
How long we keep it
Account data lasts as long as your account. Usage events (opens, clicks, saves) are deleted after 24 months. Records of the consents you gave or withdrew are kept as a legal record.
Your rights
From Your account → Consents you can export every row we hold about you as JSON, or delete your account — deletion removes your personal data immediately and permanently (details of exactly what happens to each record are available on request). You can also ask us to correct anything, object to processing, or exercise any other UK GDPR right by emailing hello@theopengate.app. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
